Tailgating and Vendor Space Rules
To provide a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming experience for everyone, all tailgaters and vendors must follow these rules:
Registration and Space Assignment
• All tailgating and vendor spaces must be reserved and paid for in advance.
• Spaces will be assigned by Morris College and may not be transferred, exchanged, or resold.
• Participants must remain within their designated space.
• Registration fees are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by Morris College.
• A reservation is not confirmed until payment and all required forms have been received.
Setup and Breakdown
• Participants must check in before entering the event area.
• Setup must be completed by the designated deadline. Late arrivals may not be permitted to enter.
• Vehicles must be removed from restricted areas after unloading unless the vehicle is included within the assigned space.
• No early breakdown is permitted unless authorized by event staff.
• All spaces must be completely cleared at the conclusion of the event.
Tents, Equipment, and Displays
• Tents, tables, chairs, grills, signs, and merchandise must remain within the assigned space.
• Tents must be securely anchored with approved weights. Do not drive stakes into pavement or campus grounds.
• Displays may not block sidewalks, roads, entrances, fire lanes, or neighboring spaces.
• Generators must be quiet, properly ventilated, and positioned safely away from guests.
• Participants are responsible for supplying their own tents, tables, chairs, extension cords, lighting, and other equipment unless otherwise stated.
• Morris College is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Food and Cooking
• Cooking is allowed only in approved areas.
• Grills and cooking equipment must be attended at all times and kept away from tents, buildings, vehicles, and combustible materials.
• Open fires, fire pits, and deep fryers are prohibited unless specifically approved.
• Vendors selling or distributing food must meet all applicable health, safety, licensing, and permit requirements.
• Food vendors must have an appropriate fire extinguisher available.
• Grease, hot coals, ice, and wastewater may not be dumped on the ground, into storm drains, or in regular trash containers.
Vendor Requirements
• Vendors may sell only the products or services approved during registration.
• The sale of counterfeit, illegal, offensive, dangerous, or unauthorized merchandise is prohibited.
• Vendors may not sell items displaying the Morris College name, logo, mascot, or other trademarks without written authorization.
• Vendors are responsible for all applicable business licenses, permits, insurance, and sales taxes.
• Vendor displays, conduct, music, and merchandise must reflect the family-friendly atmosphere of Morris College.
• Food and merchandise prices must be clearly displayed.
• Soliciting outside the assigned vendor space is prohibited.
Alcohol, Smoking, and Conduct
• Alcoholic beverages are prohibited unless expressly authorized by Morris College.
• Illegal drugs, weapons, fighting, disorderly conduct, and threatening behavior are strictly prohibited.
• Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated areas.
• Music must be kept at a reasonable level and may not interfere with the official program or neighboring spaces.
• Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
• Participants must comply with directions from Morris College staff, campus security, and law-enforcement personnel.
Cleanliness and Safety
• Tailgaters and vendors must keep their spaces clean throughout the event.
• Trash must be placed in designated containers.
• Each participant must leave the space in the same condition in which it was received.
• Animals are prohibited except for trained service animals.
• Emergency lanes, fire hydrants, sidewalks, and building entrances must remain clear.
• Participants are responsible for any damage caused to college property.
Enforcement
Morris College reserves the right to inspect any space and remove anyone who violates these rules, creates an unsafe condition, or disrupts the event. Violators may be required to leave without a refund and may be prohibited from participating in future college events.
By registering for a tailgating or vendor space, each participant acknowledges and agrees to follow these rules and assumes responsibility for their guests, employees, equipment, merchandise, and activities.
